Baseball Recap: Wood River Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Wood River's offense. They came up short against the Twin Falls Bruins on Friday, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-6 on Friday.

Wood River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. The Wolverines are 2-1 when Thompson posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-13-2 otherwise.

Wood River has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's still a better percentage than their 2-14-2 record this season. As for Twin Falls, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

Looking ahead, Wood River will challenge Jerome at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Twin Falls, they will host Pocatello at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
