Basketball Game Preview: Airport Eagles vs. River Bluff Gators

The Airport Eagles will head out to face off against the River Bluff Gators at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Airport has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Two weeks ago, Airport was fully in charge, breezing past Great Falls 53-20. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Angel Mayes was her usual excellent self, putting up 19 points and five rebounds. What's more, she also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Ja'Sia Booth was another key player, posting nine points along with five assists and five boards.

Airport smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, River Bluff's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a blow against Denmark-Olar, falling 57-24. The game marked the Gators' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

River Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Airport, their record is now 8-4.

Airport came up short against River Bluff in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 36-29. Can Airport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
