Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ella Rodgers and Rilyn Stiegler Lead Braden River to Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Braden River had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on Port Charlotte with a sharp 3-0 win. This was a revenge game for Braden River: when they faced off against Port Charlotte back in August, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Braden River walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-13, 25-20.

Braden River was led to victory by Rilyn Stiegler and Ella Rodgers. Stiegler had 12 digs and six assists, while Rodgers had seven digs. Those seven digs gave Rodgers a new career-high.

Braden River pushed their record up to 17-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Port Charlotte, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season.

Braden River has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Northeast on the 22nd. As for Port Charlotte, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Cypress Creek on the 22nd.
