Football Recap: Monrovia Does not Make It Easy on La Canada's Passing Game

Monrovia's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They received a blow as they fell 14-0 to the La Canada Spartans. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Even if they lost, Monrovia's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Lucas Martinez, Rob Staples, and JACOB CALDERON, who each picked up one sack apiece. Monrovia got some further help from Martinez: he picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Monrovia is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3. As for La Canada, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Coincidentally, Monrovia and La Canada will both be playing San Marino the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
