Preview: Lewisburg Patriots vs. Horn Lake Eagles
The Lewisburg Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Horn Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horn Lake took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lewisburg, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Lewisburg got themselves on the board against Southaven, but Southaven never followed suit. They walked away with a 7-0 win over the Chargers.
Lewisburg's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Jamar James and his two sacks.
Horn Lake might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 28-14 to Hernando, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Horn Lake has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Although Horn Lake took the loss, they still got scores from Rodriunn Fairlee and Demarkus Crain.
Lewisburg's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.3 points per game. Horn Lake has not been sharp this season, as they've lost six of their first seven matchups, which leaves them at a 1-6 record this season.
Lewisburg was able to grind out a solid win over Horn Lake in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, winning 15-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lewisburg since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
