Softball Recap: Cassadaga Valley Comes Up Short

Cassadaga Valley lost against Westfield back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cougars came up short against the Wolverines, falling 16-2. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly 14 runs.

Cassadaga Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emiley Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Anderson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Chloe Lundberg also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Cassadaga Valley and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Westfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

While Cassadaga Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
