Softball Recap: Willard Crimson Flashes vs. Margaretta Polar Bears
Willard lost against Margaretta back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Crimson Flashes took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Polar Bears.
Willard saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Steinmetz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Lauren Hamons was another, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Willard has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Margaretta, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.
Willard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Margaretta, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Port Clinton at 4:45 p.m. The Polar Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redskins have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
