Baseball Recap: Dwyer Find Success

While Dwyer put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Golden. The Dwyer Panthers came out on top against the Golden Demons by a score of 5-0.

Not much got past Holt Flowers, who gave up just two hits to keep Golden off the board. Flowers also tossed a walk, which is notable because Dwyer is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dom Pecoraro, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Kole Griffin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Dwyer is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Golden's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1.

Coming up, Dwyer will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Alban's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dwyer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Golden, they will head out on the road to square off against Glenelg Country at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
