Volleyball Recap: Henryville Hornets vs. Christian Academy Warriors

Henryville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Christian Academy Warriors on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Henryville was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Christian Academy work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-19, 25-19.

Ella Logsdon paced Henryville's offense, picking up six kills. Logsdon got some help from Lylia Martin and her eight assists. Finally, Logsdon was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carly Stevens, who had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces Stevens has posted since back in September of 2024. Aiana Rightnowar was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

The victory got Christian Academy back to even at 1-1.

Henryville has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Scottsburg on the 21st. As for Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Trinity Lutheran on the 21st.
