Basketball Recap: Newfield Comes Up Short

Newfield made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Copiague, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wolverines fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 72-69 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (62), the Wolverines still had to take the loss.

Newfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Copiague, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Newfield has already played their next matchup, a 67-60 defeat against Union Springs on the 16th. As for Copiague, they will challenge Huntington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
