Baseball Game Preview: Stratford Knights vs. James Island Trojans

For the second straight game, Stratford will face off against James Island. The Knights will be playing at home against the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Stratford has won 12 straight at home, while James Island won 11 straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.

Stratford is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: James Island, who was ranked first at the time (Stratford was ranked sixth). The Knights fell 6-3 to the Trojans on Tuesday. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Dom Longello was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 20-5-2. As for James Island, their win bumped their record up to 27-3.
