Baseball Game Preview: Oviedo Lions vs. Lake Howell Silverhawks

For the second straight game, Oviedo will face off against Lake Howell. The Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Silverhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Oviedo will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Oviedo was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Howell, taking the game 7-3.

Bryce Francher looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colin Napier, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Christian Lynch, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lake Howell has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oviedo, their victory bumped their record up to 10-15.
