Softball Game Preview: Heritage Panthers vs. Sebastian River Sharks

Heritage hasn't had much luck against Sebastian River recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Sharks at 6:00 p.m. Heritage has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Heritage lost 14-4 to Bayside on Thursday.

Heritage saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amanda Piccione, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Emma Aldana was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Merritt Island hit Sebastian River with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sharks fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 8-7.

Rily Biggers was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Alexa Pittman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Sebastian River, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Heritage might still be hurting after the 17-0 loss they got from Sebastian River in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
