Recap: South Bronx Prep Cougars vs. Moore Catholic Mavericks
On Monday, South Bronx Prep was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to Moore Catholic. South Bronx Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brianna Caliri was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds for Moore Catholic. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Ragona, who scored 14 points.
South Bronx Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Moore Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
South Bronx Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tuitt at 4:30 p.m. on January 16th. Tuitt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 327th, while South Bronx Prep is ranked 117th). Moore Catholic will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Maria Regina at 1:45 p.m. on February 4th.
