Soccer Game Preview: Dutch Fork vs. Irmo

The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes will square off against the Irmo Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Dutch Fork's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of River Bluff last Friday. While losing is never fun, Dutch Fork can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while River Bluff are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Irmo also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Chapin last Friday, falling 12-0. Irmo have struggled against Chapin recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Dutch Fork has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Irmo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything went Dutch Fork's way against Irmo when the teams last played back in March, as Dutch Fork made off with a 4-1 win. Will the Silver Foxes repeat their success, or do the Yellow Jackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
