Soccer Game Preview: Lightridge vs. Riverside

Lightridge hasn't had much luck against Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bolts will head out to challenge the Ram at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Lightridge had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Independence last Thursday. The Bolts put the hurt on Independence with a sharp 4-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Riverside strolled into their game last Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over Potomac Falls. Riverside might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by three goals or more this season.

Riverside's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those three games. As for Lightridge, their win bumped their record up to 2-0-1.

Lightridge might still be hurting after the 6-2 defeat they got from Riverside when the teams last played back in May of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bolts were down 4-0.
