Basketball Recap: New Prairie Takes a Loss

New Prairie played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Penn Kingsmen and fell 69-11. The match marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Penn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jessa Troy led the charge by going 5 for 7 on her way to 15 points along with seven assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hummel, who went 5 of 6 en route to 11 points.

New Prairie has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Penn, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

New Prairie has already played their next game (against LaVille), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Penn will host South Bend St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Penn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
