Baseball Recap: Ashley Ridge Triumphs

Ashley Ridge hadn't done well against West Ashley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Swamp Fox walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Wildcats. For the Swamp Fox, this counts as revenge for the 10-6 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Braxton Sherrouse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kruse Kr Kuhn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brodie Tuthill, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ashley Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for West Ashley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
