Softball Recap: Ponder Comes Up Short

Ponder and Gunter squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Ponder had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 26-6 to the Tigers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Ponder's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Gunter, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-9.

Ponder does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gunter, they will square off against Hughes Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their 24th straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
