Basketball Recap: Midlothian Skates Past Corsicana with Ease

There's no place like home for Midlothian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed by the Corsicana Tigers to the tune of 59-31 on Tuesday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Tigers are ranked 813th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Midlothian is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Corsicana, they dropped their record down to 13-20 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midlothian will venture away from home to take on Crandall at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Corsicana, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Corsicana Tigers challenge the Ennis Lions at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th.
