Basketball Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

Mt. Vernon was the 62-39 winner over Freeburg when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Midgets on Tuesday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mt. Vernon now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Freeburg, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Centralia at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Freeburg, they are taking a road trip to square off against Breese Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
