The Taos Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Page Sand Devils at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Taos has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Taos is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 16-11 win over Bayfield on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Daniel Martinez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Taos: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-4 otherwise. Sonny Abeyta was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Taos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive matches.
While Page didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Dolores 15-5 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Sand Devils, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Page also got a great performance from Wyatt Tallman as he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Tallman has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Cole Tate was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Yazzie, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.
Page has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. The win got Taos back to even at 5-5.
Both Taos and Page just can't seem to miss. Taos has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Page struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
