Softball Recap: Jackson Heights Comes Up Short

Jackson Heights lost to McLouth on Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cobras took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Cobras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Layla Cochran made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennifer Mellies, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Jackson Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for McLouth, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Jackson Heights will take on Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for McLouth, they will venture away from home to face off against Royal Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
