Mize had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They skirted past Seminary 5-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mize also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Ella Gordon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on AK Easterling, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Lila Gordon was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Mize's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs over those games. As for Seminary, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
