Recap: Patterson Institute Lions vs. Fort Hancock Mustangs
The Patterson Institute Lions are still winless after their match against the Fort Hancock Mustangs on Thursday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Patterson Institute fell just short of Fort Hancock by a score of 38-35. Patterson Institute lost against Fort Hancock in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-44 score last time.
Leading Fort Hancock to victory were Patrick Hernandez and Emmanuel Herrera. Hernandez scored 15 points, while Herrera scored 16 points. The match was Herrera's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaid Hermosillo, who scored 0 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.
Patterson Institute's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Fort Hancock, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Patterson Institute will be playing at home against Job Corps at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Fort Hancock, they will head out on the road to face off against Immanuel Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Immanuel Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
