Basketball Game Preview: Concord Spiders vs. West Rowan Falcons

Concord is 0-10 against West Rowan since February of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Concord Spiders will be playing at home against the West Rowan Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Concord is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Lake Norman Charter on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Concord was outmatched by Lake Norman Charter and fell 68-40. While losing is never fun, the Spiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while the Knights are ranked 194th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kaylin Williams, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Nebrick, who earned eight points along with six rebounds and four blocks.

Meanwhile, West Rowan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 56-15 loss at the hands of Robinson.

This is the second loss in a row for Concord and nudges their season record down to 1-8. As for West Rowan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
