Kuna and Middleton are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Kavemen will host the Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Kuna's win against Meridian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Kavemen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Warriors on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Kavemen as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kuna got a great performance from Bergan Overall as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and only one walk). Overall has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kuna saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roper Allen, who went 2-for-4 with one run.
Kuna hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meridian struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Middleton waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 4-1.
Ian Lenius spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, Jedsen Aldrich was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
Middleton pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Kuna, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kuna has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Middleton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Kuna might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Middleton when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Kavemen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
