Recap: Lake George Lakers vs. Mechanicville Red Raiders
The Lake George Lakers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They took a serious blow against Mechanicville, falling 79-45. Lake George was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-17.
Despite the loss, Lake George had strong showings from Darnell Johnson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Jack Welch, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Johnson posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelo Bergman, who scored eight points.
Lake George's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Mechanicville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Lake George will stay at home for another game and welcome Moriah at 5:00 p.m. on January 24th. Moriah will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Mechanicville, they will head out on the road to challenge Stillwater at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Stillwater has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,005 points over their last 13 contests.
