Baseball Game Preview: Elizabethtown Bears vs. Hershey Trojans

The Elizabethtown Bears will face off against the Hershey Trojans at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.

Elizabethtown is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Warwick on Wednesday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hershey). They walked away with a 13-8 win over Central Dauphin East on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their one-run performance the game before.

Bryce Erwin and Colton Fultz did most of the damage at the plate: Erwin went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Fultz went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three runs gave Erwin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Erwin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Hershey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Elizabethtown's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Hershey, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-11 record.

Elizabethtown came out on top in a nail-biter against Hershey in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
