Baseball Recap: St. Marys Comes Up Short

St. Marys lost against Valley Falls back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bears came up short against the Dragons, falling 7-1. The Bears' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

St. Marys saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

St. Marys' defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Valley Falls, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.

Looking ahead, St. Marys will square off against Riley County on Monday. The Bears are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Valley Falls, they have already played their next matchup, an 8-1 loss against Silver Lake on the 10th.
