Bradenton Christian is 8-2 against Bayshore since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Bradenton Christian will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy on Friday. Bradenton Christian was the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Waylon Moore was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Matthew Johnson was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Bradenton Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bayshore beat Saint Stephen's Episcopal 7-3 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.
Jordan Greene was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Greene was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abraham Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Diego Villegas, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Bayshore pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs over those games. As for Bradenton Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Everything went Bradenton Christian's way against Bayshore when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Bradenton Christian made off with a 10-2 win. Does Bradenton Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bayshore turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
