Volleyball Recap: Bel Air Highlanders vs. Hanks Knights
After flying high against Parkland last Tuesday, Bel Air came back down to earth. The Bel Air Highlanders fell just short of the Hanks Knights by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Highlanders of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Bel Air took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12.
Even though they lost, Bel Air kept the net locked down and finished the game with ten blocks. That's the most blocks they've managed all season.
Hanks got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sarai Flores out in front who had 40 digs and a kill. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Gonzalez, who had 20 digs, a kill, and 22 assists.
The loss snapped Bel Air's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-13 record. As for Hanks, their record is now 12-20.
Bel Air will challenge Del Valle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hanks, they will take on Horizon at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanks is facing Horizon at the right time seeing as Horizon is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
