Baseball Recap: Great Oak Extends Winning Streak to Two

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Great Oak had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the San Marino Titans a 7-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolfpack.

Roy Kim looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Great Oak: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-15 otherwise.

At the plate, Gavin Fien was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Sam Pink was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Great Oak's win bumped their record up to 13-16. As for San Marino, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 21-7 record.

Coming up, Great Oak will take on Temecula Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Bears will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wolfpack surely won't give up without a fight. San Marino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
