Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Old Town

While Old Town's win against Bangor wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Coyotes' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rams a 2-0 shutout on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Coyotes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Haley Sirois, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Bangor off the board. Sirois has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Natalie Fournier was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

The victory was the third in a row for Old Town, bringing their record up to 5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bangor, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Old Town will take on John Bapst Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Coyotes are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bangor, they will square off against Edward Little at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
