Baseball Preview: Wilmot Panthers vs. Westosha Central Falcons        
        
		
            
 Wilmot and Westosha Central are an even 5-5 against one another  since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Wilmot Panthers will head out on the road to  square off against  the Westosha Central Falcons at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The last three games Wilmot has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
 Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought  game, but Wilmot had to settle for  a  5-4 defeat against Antioch.
 Wilmot got a good showing from  Owen Poepping, who   tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (he also only allowed one  walk). Poepping has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  James Walkanoff made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with three  RBI and a  double.  Trenten Zeivel was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, in what's become a running theme this season, Westosha Central gave their fans yet another huge  win on Friday. They were the clear victor by  a  15-5 margin over St. Joseph. Westosha Central's  victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet  this season.
  Charlie Dietz was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jake Urban, who  scored three  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Wilmot's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Westosha Central, their win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 7-0.
 Wilmot skirted past Westosha Central  5-4 in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Westosha Central's  Nick Argersinger, who   pitched 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (he also only allowed one  walk). Now that he won't be playing  on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Wilmot to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
