The Corbin Redhounds will head out to challenge the Sayre Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Corbin put up the most points they have all season on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over Southwestern. The win continues a trend for the Redhounds in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Lucas Tarvin made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Corbin got a big performance out of Noah Cima, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Cima has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Estep, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Corbin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwestern only posted a batting average of .154.
Meanwhile, Sayre put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past West Jessamine 12-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Charlie Slabaugh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Slabaugh was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Brody Beall was a standout: he scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Reed Beatty was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Sayre's record now sits at 5-0. As for Corbin, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Corbin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Sayre struggles in that department as they've averaged .511. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
