Basketball Recap: Logan/Palco Falls Despite Big Games from Jayla Traxler and Lylah Voss

Logan/Palco was the 42-22 winner over Plainville when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Logan/Palco lost 63-39 to the Plainville Cardinals on Tuesday.

Logan/Palco's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lylah Voss, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points and four blocks, and Jayla Traxler, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. Those eight points gave Traxler a new career-high.

Plainville found their leader in sophomore Shelby Molina, who went 9-for-21 on her way to 22 points along with seven assists and seven boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Molina has scored at least a third of Plainville's points. Another player making a difference was Emma Fuzzell, who scored 14 points and three steals.

Logan/Palco dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Plainville, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logan/Palco will take on Triplains/Brewster at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Logan/Palco is facing Triplains/Brewster at the right time seeing as Triplains/Brewster is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Plainville, they will challenge Thomas More Prep-Marian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
