Football Recap: East Wake Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

East Wake and Sanderson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but East Wake had to settle for second. They were dealt a 41-6 defeat at the hands of the Spartans. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Jaiveon Johnson threw for 169 yards and one TD. Jaylen Maloy was his top target, picking up 62 receiving yards. On the ground, Nelson Ruffin rushed for 91 yards.

Chase Bowie was his usual excellent self, rushing for 72 yards and one score on only eight carries, while also throwing for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes for Sanderson. That's the most rushing yards Bowie has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Ben Young III, who rushed for 75 yards and one TD.

East Wake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Sanderson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

East Wake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sanderson, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 47-7 loss against Cape Fear on the 14th.
