Basketball Preview: La Porte Bulldogs vs. Ball Tornadoes

The La Porte Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Ball Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, La Porte came up short against the Mavericks and fell 55-48. La Porte has not had much luck with the Mavericks recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

La Porte's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Trent Callies, who scored 18 points along with eight steals, and Phillip Ned who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Callies is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Pray, who scored five points.

La Porte struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Ball's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 69-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manvel. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), Ball still had to take the loss.

La Porte's loss dropped their record down to 19-13. As for Ball, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-9.

La Porte came up short against the Tornadoes in their previous meeting back in January, falling 66-60. Will La Porte have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
