Softball Recap: Oceanside Gets the Win

Oceanside can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Grossmont Foothillers 7-5. The Pirates' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Seaven Fuimaono was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Irie Filo also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Fuimaono wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Oceanside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Oceanside's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Grossmont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4-1.

Oceanside has already played their next matchup, a 7-1 defeat against Westview on the 8th. As for Grossmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Scripps Ranch on the 18th.
