Softball Recap: Hugoton Eagles vs. Colby Eagles
Hugoton lost against Colby on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hugoton Eagles fell 17-13 to the Colby Eagles. Hugoton has not had much luck with Colby recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
For Colby's part, they got a massive performance out of Hali Booi, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and a triple. Another player making a difference was Sadie Cheney, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and three runs.
Hugoton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Colby, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Hugoton will head out on the road to challenge Cimarron on Thursday. Hugoton is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Colby, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ulysses at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colby is facing Ulysses at the right time seeing as Ulysses is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
