Basketball Recap: West Takes a Loss

West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 33rd straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 49-14 defeat at the hands of the Maryville Red Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Red Rebels are ranked 119th).

West's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Maryville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-12.

West will challenge William Blount at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maryville, they will square off against Farragut at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Maryville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
