Basketball Recap: Southeast Takes a Loss

Southeast had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it ten. They were beaten by the Valdosta Wildcats 88-13. While losing is never fun, the Seminoles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 479th in Florida, while the Wildcats are ranked 45th in Georgia).

As for Valdosta, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valdosta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Imani Hall, who posted 11 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Bloom, who went 5-for-6 en route to 10 points.

Southeast will take on Manatee in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valdosta, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-23 victory against Peach County on the 13th.
