Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Golden Eagles vs. Cleburne County Tigers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Jacksonville Golden Eagles walked away with it. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 62-52 on Monday. Given Jacksonville's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Tigers are ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Devin Barksdale, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Sean Herbert, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Jacksonville is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. As for Cleburne County, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.
Jacksonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cleburne County also has no future games currently scheduled.
