Basketball Game Preview: Elizabeth Bulldogs vs. Sotomayor Wolves

Elizabeth is 0-6 against Sotomayor since December of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The two teams will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:00 p.m.

Elizabeth is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since January 17, 2024 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Marquez and fell 70-27. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Sotomayor over Maywood CES in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Sotomayor blew Maywood CES out of the water with a 74-37 final score. The Wolves pushed the score to 56-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolfpack had little chance of recovering from.

Sotomayor is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Elizabeth, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Elizabeth lost to Sotomayor on the road by a decisive 75-56 margin in their previous matchup two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sotomayor's Bryan Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds.
