Volleyball Recap: Van Alstyne's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Van Alstyne took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Forney, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Jackrabbits 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won four contests in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Van Alstyne who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 23-25, 25-13, 16-25, 15-10.

Among those leading the charge was Payton Murray, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave her a new career-high. Morgan Walker also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Despite the loss, Forney still got an impressive performance from Kalei Kea, who had 20 assists and seven digs.

Van Alstyne's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Forney, they dropped their record down to 10-11 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Van Alstyne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Bonham on the 28th. As for Forney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Anna on the 28th.
