Basketball Recap: Red Bank Regional Comes Up Short

Red Bank Regional lost against Red Bank Catholic back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Red Bank Regional Bucs took a blow against the Red Bank Catholic Caseys, falling 73-24. While losing is never fun, the Bucs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Caseys are ranked second).

Red Bank Catholic was led to victory by Tessa Carman and Christina Liggio. Carman went 8-for-12 to rack up 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Liggio went 7-for-13 on her way to 17 points and five assists. Carman is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 57% in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lola Giordano, who posted seven points and six assists.

Red Bank Regional's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Red Bank Catholic, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 23-4.

As of now, neither Red Bank Regional nor Red Bank Catholic have any future games scheduled.
