Volleyball Game Preview: Animo South Los Angeles Panthers vs. Middle College Cougars

The Animo South Los Angeles Panthers will face off against the Middle College Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Animo South Los Angeles is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Animo South Los Angeles' tournament run continued when they took on Sotomayor last Saturday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Wolves.

Animo South Los Angeles' defeat came about despite a quality game from Jesse Dubon, who had 14 digs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Middle College duked it out with Horace Mann UCLA Community on Friday. The Cougars skirted past the Panthers 3-2. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Middle College was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 19-25, 19-25, 25-17, 15-5.

Middle College's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Animo South Los Angeles, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

Animo South Los Angeles was able to grind out a solid win over Middle College when the teams last played on April 4th, winning 3-1. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
