It's playoff time, and East Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Vancleave Bulldogs 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Saturday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Breyona Tanner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abby Danis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

East Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive matchups.

East Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 25 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Vancleave, their loss dropped their record down to 16-19.

East Central has already played their next game, a 10-3 win against Lafayette on the 13th. Vancleave does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
