Football Game Preview: Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars vs. South Plantation Paladins

The Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars will challenge the South Plantation Paladins at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Pembroke Pines Charter 7.5, South Plantation 12.6) so any points scored will be well earned.

Pembroke Pines Charter is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Nova just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 19-18 to the Titans.

Despite the loss, Pembroke Pines Charter had strong showings from Ava Rivera, who threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns, and Madison Ojeda, who picked up 87 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Pembroke Pines Charter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ojeda.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Plantation, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over Plantation on Wednesday. Considering the Paladins have won five contests by more than 19 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pembroke Pines Charter better keep an eye on McKenzie Livermore. She was instrumental in South Plantation's win, throwing for 184 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of her passes. What's more, Livermore racked up 98.1 passer rating, the most she's had since back in March. Amaris Bazemore also helped with two scores in total.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to South Plantation's defense and their four sacks. Kamylle Williams was especially locked on to Plantation's QB and sacked her twice. Williams also made four total tackles, which is notable because South Plantation is 7-3 when she posts at least three total tackles, but 1-4 otherwise.

South Plantation now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
